The story behind
the name

Vino Arsan was born as a vision to bring an unmatched wine to households where it's better tasted with loved ones in private spaces all over the Philippines.

Our Story

Established 2009 • Proudly Handcrafted • Proudly Filipino

Vino Arsan first started as a hobby in 2008 by Mr. Arturo Olarte, a Mechanical Engineer by profession. During his time in one of his project sites in Nueva Ecija, he found local berries (Bugnay/Bignay and Lipote) which had color and tannin content similar to grapes.

Surprised that these berries had no commercial value and were not being used for consumption, he first turned them to juice. Because of its red wine-like color, he experimented in fermenting it into wine. From then, along with his son Josh Olarte, they attended wine making seminars and trainings in the US to further hone their craft.

In order to know the quality and taste of their red wine against international standards, they joined the 2016 International Wine Making Competition by Wine Maker Magazine, where they won 2 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal out of more than 2,981 entries. Then in May 2018, they placed Gold Medal for their Malibug (Mango-Lipote-Bugnay) Red Wine Entry.

We start preparing the wine's base. Hygiene is of key importance, and strict sanitary inspections take place. We take due diligence where we source our fruits across the Philippines.

Our Story of
Passion & Heritage

Vino Arsan was formed with the aim of promoting Filipino handcrafted wines and spirits from fruits sourced from provinces all over the Philippines. From Calamansi in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, to exotic blends from South Cotabato and Quezon, we celebrate the rich agricultural heritage of our homeland.

Each bottle tells a story of local farmers, traditional winemaking techniques, and the unique flavors that define Filipino craftsmanship. Our award-winning wines, particularly our signature Malibugold blend made from Mangosteen, Lipote, and Bugnay, have earned international recognition.

Frequently asked questions

Where are your wines produced?

Our wines are produced at our warehouse in Parañaque. All of our tropical fruit wines are sourced from individual Filipino farmers we're partnered with across the Philippines. This supports small producers which we are very proud of!

What makes Malibugold special?

Malibugold is a rare tropical fruit native to the Philippines, known for its unique flavor profile and brilliant golden color when ripe. Our winemaking process captures these distinctive characteristics, creating a wine that's truly one-of-a-kind.

Do you offer custom labeling for events?

Yes! We offer custom labeling services for weddings, corporate events, and special occasions. Contact our team to discuss your vision and we'll help create something memorable.

How often do you produce wine batches?

As a small-scale artisan producer, we craft our wines in limited batches throughout the year based on fruit seasonality and availability. Each batch is carefully monitored and aged to perfection before release. This small-batch approach ensures exceptional quality control and allows us to capture the peak flavors of each seasonal harvest. Production schedules vary by variety, so we recommend checking our Limited Releases page or contacting us for availability of specific wines.

How should I store the wine once it's delivered?

Store your Vino Arsan wines in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ideal storage temperature is between 12-18°C (54-64°F). Once opened, seal tightly and refrigerate, consuming within 3-5 days for optimal flavor. Our tropical fruit wines are best enjoyed within 1-2 years of purchase, though our award-winning reds can age beautifully for longer periods.
